Gwyneth Paltrow’s ski crash has impressed a musical opening in December in London

The collision at a Utah ski resort that prompted final spring’s high-profile civil trial between Gwyneth Paltrow and a 76-year-old retired optometrist may also set the backdrop for an upcoming musical debuting in December at a cabaret theater in London.

The musical “Gwyneth Goes Snowboarding” is scheduled to open Dec. 13 at London’s Pleasance Theatre. It’s booked for a restricted run on the venue by Dec. 23.

A description of “Gwyneth Goes Snowboarding,” shared on-line on the theater’s web site, describes the parodied tackle Paltrow’s extensively publicized authorized battle earlier this 12 months as “a model new present for Christmas 2023.” Performers Linus Karp and Joseph Martin will play Paltrow and Terry Sanderson, the retired optometrist who sued her. The dance pop and digital singer-songwriter Leland, recognized for “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” created an authentic rating.

The trial concerned a 2016 collision between Paltrow and Sanderson whereas each had been snowboarding on the Deer Valley resort in Park Metropolis, Utah. Sanderson initially sued Paltrow for $3 million after which lowered the quantity to “greater than $300,000” in damages, claiming the “Shakespeare In Love” actor was chargeable for the collision that, he mentioned, left him injured years earlier. 

Paltrow went on to file a counter swimsuit in opposition to Sanderson, for $1 and attorneys’ charges, and was ultimately deemed not responsible for the Park City incident by a jury that decided after a reasonably brief spherical of deliberations that Sanderson was at fault.
